BulkFlick Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about BulkFlick.

Getting Started

Do I need a Flickr account?+

Yes. BulkFlick uses the official Flickr API to access your photo library. You will need an active Flickr account to sign in and use the app.

Does BulkFlick access my own Flickr library only?+

BulkFlick only accesses content that your Flickr account is authorized to see. It uses Flickr's official OAuth flow and reads your own albums, photos, and metadata. Nothing is modified or deleted without your action.

Do I need technical knowledge to use it?+

Not at all. BulkFlick is designed to be simple for any Windows user. Install it from the Microsoft Store, sign in with your Flickr account, and you're ready to go.

What is BulkFlick?+

BulkFlick is a native desktop app for Windows that lets you browse your Flickr albums, back up your photo library, and download them to organized folders on your computer — all through the official Flickr API.

Is BulkFlick free?+

Yes. The free plan lets you browse up to 9 albums, view up to 9 photos per album, and see up to 13 search results. Upgrade to Pro to unlock unlimited albums, full pagination, upload, and quality selection.

Is BulkFlick affiliated with Flickr?+

No. BulkFlick is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Flickr. It uses the public Flickr API to provide desktop access to your library.

Distribution & Updates

Where can I get BulkFlick?+

BulkFlick is available exclusively through the Microsoft Store. Search for "BulkFlick" in the Store app, or visit apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NV525MRPVS6.

Is BulkFlick available for Mac?+

Not yet. BulkFlick is currently available for Windows 10 and Windows 11 only, through the Microsoft Store. A macOS version is in development — coming soon.

How do updates work?+

Because BulkFlick is distributed through the Microsoft Store, updates are handled automatically. The Store will update your app in the background whenever a new version is released — no manual downloads needed.

Why is BulkFlick only on the Microsoft Store?+

The Microsoft Store provides a secure, verified installation experience with automatic updates and easy uninstall. It is the safest way to distribute Windows apps.

Account & Authentication

How does sign-in work?+

BulkFlick uses Flickr's official OAuth 1.0a flow. When you click Sign In, the app opens your browser to Flickr's authorization page. Once you grant access, you're redirected back to the app. BulkFlick never stores your Flickr password.

Do I need a BulkFlick account?+

Only if you want to purchase a Pro license or manage your license keys. The free app itself only requires a Flickr account.

My Flickr session expired — what do I do?+

Sign out and sign back in from the app. Flickr OAuth tokens can expire or be revoked. The app will prompt you automatically when it detects an expired token.

Downloads & Pro Plan

What quality can I download in?+

You can choose from Original (highest available), 2048px, 1600px, 1024px, 800px, 640px, 500px, or 320px. The quality selector is visible in the toolbar at the bottom of the app.

Can I pause or resume downloads?+

Currently downloads run until complete. You can view progress in the Downloads view. Cancelled sessions are not resumed, but you can restart them.

What is included in the Pro plan?+

Pro gives you unlimited albums, full pagination, upload photos to Flickr, quality selection (up to original size), bulk album downloads, background download queue, and priority support. Available as a 1-year, 2-year, or lifetime license.

Can I move my Pro license to a new computer?+

Yes. Go to Support → Remove license on your old device, then activate the key on the new one. One active device at a time per license.

Privacy & Data

What data does BulkFlick store?+

BulkFlick stores your Flickr OAuth token locally on your device (encrypted), your download preferences, and your license key. Your download history is stored locally. We don't sell or share your data.

Does BulkFlick send any data to its servers?+

BulkFlick contacts the BulkFlick API only to: validate your license and fetch in-app announcements. No photo data or Flickr credentials are ever sent to our servers.
